Late Night Musings

I have come to several conclusions about Fundamentalism.

I will only post one for now. The others will take more thought.

I see the great weakness is the fear of man. Over and over in fundamental churches, men seem to be pursuing truth and godliness and end up backpedaling to keep their jobs or pacify their constituency. I will not give names, but this has been my overwhelming experience.

What does that mean? It seems that many men start out right. They desire to pursue truth. They want to follow the path of God's leading, but then reality hits and when they discover something that does not fit the mold of the prevailing leadership or fellowship, they avoid it or fail to follow through on what they have discovered. No one wants to lose his job.

By the grace of God, I have attempted to follow through. When God has opened my eyes to some truth that does not fit the standard independent baptist framework, I have labored to make sure my conclusions are Biblical, then I teach the people and take my stand there.
